Designed an Intelligence-Led Alert Framework to Identify Early Launch Opportunities in Oncology

The Challenge

Making Field Alerts More Relevant and Actionable

Following the launch of a targeted oncology therapy, the commercial team needed to improve its existing field alert ecosystem. Rule-based alerts provided information on potential HCP opportunities, but limited prioritization, overlapping triggers and the absence of structured field feedback made it difficult to determine which alerts warranted action.

Our Approach

Connecting Patient Signals to Field Decisions

1. Alert Ecosystem Assessment

  • Evaluated existing alert rules, data sources, utilization and execution patterns.
  • Identified overlapping alerts, information gaps and opportunities for refinement.

2. Opportunity Intelligence Design

  • Defined patient and HCP opportunity signals, including new diagnoses, treatment changes and potential switching.
  • Explored complementary intelligence sources and their feasibility for timely opportunity identification.

3. Prioritization & Activation Framework

  • Developed a prioritization approach incorporating HCP potential, clinical urgency, signal confidence, actionability and competitive context.
  • Defined business rules, field actions and feedback requirements for future implementation.
The Results

A Structured Foundation for Smarter Field Intelligence

  • Prioritized catalog of existing and proposed alert opportunities.
  • Business rules and data requirements for actionable HCP alerts.
  • Recommendations to improve alert relevance and reduce redundancy.
  • Implementation guidance and a roadmap for evolving the alert ecosystem.
