A few months ago, I was reviewing a national brand performance report. One line jumped out: “West zone – performing above target.”
It looked like a win. But when we zoomed in, the story changed. Half the clinics (within West zone) in Area A hadn’t engaged once. Meanwhile, a handful of private practices in Area B were quietly driving most of the volume.
Same playbook. Same campaign. Two completely different realities.
This reinforced something we often overlook: performance summaries don’t explain behavior. They hide the story of who is engaging, how often, and why.
In pharma, brand performance doesn’t scale evenly. HCP behavior varies city by city, even clinic by clinic. And the same product can live a very different life depending on who’s prescribing it—and what their local world looks like.
What affects HCP engagement? A few patterns I’ve seen
In my experience, there’s rarely one universal reason why a brand outperforms in one region and underperforms in another. But there are consistent patterns, especially in markets like Singapore, that often explain the gap:
Maybe you’re a newer brand finding it difficult to penetrate the market
→ In Singapore, suburban general practitioners across areas like Hougang or Jurong tend to prescribe familiar generics from distributors they’ve worked with for years. Meanwhile, in private clinics around Orchard Road, doctors lean toward branded medications that align with premium service expectations.

You assume your reps are covering all priority accounts
→ Territory-level averages might suggest strong activity, but a zoomed-in view reveals that clusters of high-potential clinics—especially in the east—are consistently under-engaged.
You believe your campaign succeeded because prescription volumes spiked post-launch
→ But a closer look at Singapore’s western districts might show repeat prescriptions are declining. Possibly due to lower patient tolerance to certain drugs and treatments, feedback from polyclinic physicians, or competitor pushback.
You think market share is holding steady, thanks to public sector sales
→ A successful tender with SingHealth or NHG can inflate national metrics, but private clinics often follow a different logic. If brand engagement is declining outside the public system, your share isn’t as healthy as it seems.
So, narrowing down on what leads you to operate on assumptions:
- You track sales, not who drove them
- You see reach, but not repeat
- You segment markets, not accounts
- You run campaigns, but miss field feedback
How ThinkCraft focuses on insight-driven strategies
Here’s how ThinkCraft helps connect the dots between surface-level performance and actual impact:
You track sales, not who drove them
You know the numbers are growing, but not why. Was it the new campaign? A rep who cracked a tough clinic? Or just a tender win inflating the chart?
ThinkCraft builds reporting systems that answer the 'who' behind the 'what.'
Through rep-level dashboards and territory-specific views, we give sales leaders clarity on what’s driving success by person, place, and tactic.
Combined with a central metric governance layer, you no longer guess who’s behind the spike. You know it.
You see reach, but not repeat
Customized dashboards help you identify both problems and solutions
The campaign got clicks. Doctors prescribed. But two months later, the refill numbers tell a different story...and you never saw it coming.
ThinkCraft helps you track not just interaction but follow-through.
Whether it's repeat prescriptions, re-engagement, or channel switching, ThinkCraft’s customer experience measurement frameworks reveal how different customer types engage over time.
You segment markets, not accounts
The west zone report looks great. But that hides the fact that half your clinics in Jurong haven’t engaged once, while private clinics in Bukit Timah are quietly driving your growth.
ThinkCraft helps you go beyond market maps to behavior maps.
Through persona design and customer journey modeling, they build deeper segmentation—public vs. private, cost-sensitive vs. premium-oriented, and digitally engaged vs. rep-reliant.
Engagement plans are then custom-fit to archetypes, not broad zones.
You run campaigns, but miss field feedback
Assets were produced and approved, and launch emails were sent. But reps are saying the content doesn’t land, and no one’s adjusting the course.
ThinkCraft closes the feedback loop between the field and the brand.
We implement a content tagging and metadata system that tracks how each asset is used, where it’s dropped, and what gets picked up again.
